  1. Marty says :

This is part of the cost-cutting at the BBC. Radio 6 to merge with Radio 4 so each will get snippets of its usual output !

  2. Senior says :

I think this was deliberate, and it will be interesting to see if any disciplinary action will be taken against the people responsible. A very clever protest which may have captured the attention of a few important people in politics.

  3. Jez says :

The link isn’t working?! “File not found”

I can’t wait to hear this- please fix!

  4. Neil says :

I heard this live yesterday! Was nice to get 6 Music on fm for once actually. Didn’t realise it was a glitch though just thought my radio had gone strange. How did it happen?

  5. The spanner in the works says :

There will be plenty more publicity stunts in the coming weeks. I have no doubt about that.

  6. Nedbod says :

This was certainly deliberate and the person responsible sould be sacked. The same evening the continuity announcer crashed the 1:00am pips and crashed the start of the World Service output by over a minute with the National Anthem being played on the wrong side of the 1am pips. Very unprofessioonal day for the BBC on its flagship channel, quite deeliberate !!

  7. Ed Parnell says :

Good. the axing of 6 Music is a real loss, because it’s one of the few avenues new bands have to get airplay. Also the quality of the music is higher than the other ‘traditional’ stations, and while some of the presenters aren’t to everyones’ taste, it remains a good listen.

If the BBC wanted to save money, *really* wanted to save money, scrap BBC Parliament, stop sending reporters out at night to obviously closed offices all over the country, don’t throw huge parties for shows and celebrities which the people who pay for them aren’t allowed to attend, and for F***s’ sake, get some ideas before you pay for the talent to present them, not the other way around.

  8. JK says :

Ha! Always a ‘Technical Fault’.. One day… Just one day we may get a Presenter say..

“Appologies for the loss of audio there… I tripped over the damn power supply and beggered everything up.. entirely my fault!”

(Slight level of professionalism slipping though if they did I guess!)

  9. Chris says :

Better still, scrap Radio 1 and all the babbling idiots on it.

  10. Steve Bowbrick says :

6Music’s unplanned arrival on Radio 4 explained on the Radio 4 blog http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/radio4/2010/03/6crashes4.html

  11. Dave says :

Haha, it cuts in with The Undertones, a John Peel favourite – how apt!
